So long, farewell!

The Chocolate Spoon Café, also know as So What's New @ the Chocolate Spoon and SineFellas Cafe, is closing business effective 8/31/2010. 

 

After almost 7 years, Nancy Poferl and husband Jeff want to begin a real retirement of traveling, golfing and adventure.  "Our boys are grown and we have many things to check off our "bucket list" while we are still young and healthy enough," said Nancy Poferl.

 

The business is currently for sale, as well as the space it resides in.  For more information on purchasing the business or space contact Bob Engel at 612-331-8392.   Expect to see another great retail business come to wonderful White Bear Lake soon.

 

Nancy, Jeff and her friend/business partner, Gianna, have many fond customers, memories and experiences to cherish.  Nancy says, "The best part about owning and operating this business has been the people who have crossed our paths, supported us and become true friends."

 

"We have been an active part of the downtown community and surrounding area over the years.  I'm particularly proud of our charitable projects and events we've hosted and fund raised, my commitment to the continued development of the downtown area as a Main Street board member, and even a run at city council member in 2009.", said Nancy.   "We also enjoyed hosting art shows and musical events, and fostering many a local talent."

 

Join us Saturday, August 28th for a final goodbye and ice cream social.  Enjoy a scoop of Bridgeman's Ice Cream for $1.00/scoop until gone. 

 

Place your scone orders as well. 


We will be selling "The Best in the World" frozen scone pucks by the dozen while supplies last for $30.00.

Nancy is looking for part-time work and can do almost anything.  If you know of any opportunities in your company or other, please let her know.   Running this business has made her multi-dimensional in business, accounting, sales, marketing, customer service, restauranteering, training,  management, supervision, problem-solving, cash management, and the list goes on.   She claims to have a PhD from SOHK University.  The school of hard knocks.   Perfecto

2010 Point program

Beginning in 2010 earn points for retweeting @sinefellascafe tweets.  Points can be redeemed for cash discounts.

Earn 1 point for every RT times your followers.  We'll do the math and we will notify you monthly on points earned.  Points are redeemable the following month for in-store purchases.  A "Points Earned"confirmation email will be sent to issue your discount coupon for your one time, one visit discount.  Some restrictions apply.

You can earn one coupon discount per month.

Points reset each month, however a cumulative points total will be kept.  Any retweeter that earns 100,000 points in 2010 will receive a $25.00 gift certificate in December 2010 to spend or regift.  So retweet away!

You earn, 1000 points to spend in January.

Ruby Abducted

Please Return to US!

Ruby, our cedar carved bear was abducted last night (Oct 28th, 2009) by whiskey drinking bandit(s).  She was last seen wearing a floppy red hat with a white brim.  She also was wearing a white scarf with lime green and pink pom poms.  She has one ruby eye missing and her left ear is broken.  If you have seen her please report the siting to the White Bear Lake Police department.  No charges will be filed for her return.

We're taking reservations for our 2009 Music at the Gazebo series.  Email us now to book a Saturday afternoon engagement (between 12-6 ).  Send your bio and your music genre so we can properly market & promote on Gazebo, in downtown & on our website.  This is an unpaid gig, but gives great exposure.  Pick a slot and email now!

So What's New LIVE

So What's New website went live today.  A big thank you to my web designer and MASTER, Frank Garofalo of Garofalo Enterprises.  Frank's web company is Cyber View.  Frank is a 2008 graduate from Purdue University.  Frank will be continuing his education at Purdue to obtain his Masters degree.

So What's New logo was created (at a supersonic speed) by graphic designer, EXCEPTIONALE...Jim Rickard, Owner of J. Rickard Visuals.  Another big thank you to Jim for creating the most outstanding visual for my business!
